Question:
I have recently been offered conditional employment with BNSF in Birmingham, AL as a conductor. I currently work for NS as a conductor in Birmingham. I know what the training pay is for BNSF while cubbing, the interviewer said that pay is based on 48hrs. a week. What if I end up working 60+ hrs. a week like when I cubbed NS, is the pay the same or do they pay overtime while cubbing?
Also what is the conductors guarantee a half and pay for detention time (when does it start), late supper, no supper, deadhead, etc...
Are spent fuel railcars reqiured to have double shelf couplers(wellcars)?
I know most people think everyone at other Class 1's have it better than they do. I want to make sure I am not jumping from the pan into the fire. Example. I always heard that CSX pays a second days pay for any hours worked after 10, I talked to a CSX conductor and found out that was false.
How was the Chunnel (tunnel in the English Chanell) built?
I would love to talk to a BNSF conductor working out of Birmingham, AL if there is one on here.

Solve by using the total momentum conservation.?
I work for BNSF in CA. I'm not sure what "cubbing" is? So, conductors guarantee. When you 1st start, you are at 75% of pay (5% a year, 5 years, 100%) At 75% its around (gross) 3,100 a half.(if you don't break guarantee) ( if you work its 100% pay as a conductor, on a working ticket) Normal guarantee (at 100%) is 3,500 a half. Dinner, deadhead, etc. Is different from place to place, here deadhead pays (trip rate) the same as if you worked there or back.If you have the chance to work for BNSF I would not pass it up! BNSF is the highest pay of all the class 1's. I been with BNSF for about 6 years. My average pay for 2 weeks is 4,500 to 5,000 on the conductors extra board (and during the slow time, 3,500 and I am only working 2 or 3 times a week! Guarantee is a great thing!
