The power train is basically the engine, where the "power" comes from in the vehicle, in otherwords everything needed for your vehicle run, the drive train is everything after the powertrain... on a rear wheel drive; clutch, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and axle, on a front wheel drive; Transaxle (which is a combination of the transmission and the differential) and the CV Joints.
