Best accomodation options in and around Manthrayalam?

Question:
I plan to travel from Bangalore by train and reach Manthrayalam early morning at 4.30 am. I understand that there is some distance from the railway station to the actual Manthrayalam. How much is this distance and what transport would be available early morning at 4.30am? How is the road? In Manthralayam which hotels are good?

Answers:

Why on Earth do so many people get hit by trains?

You have got to to get down at Mantralayam Road. The temple is 18 kms from the station. If you do not have much luggage you can take the State Transport Bus. Costs only Rs. 6/- or so per head. There are bus connections for most of the trains. Or else you can have an auto rickshaw for Rs. 150/- or so. The road is ok execept few patches. For stay you stright go to temple receiption counter which comes before you enter temple premises. They give you good rooms or cottages at very low rates. From Rs. 75/- onwards. You can even get AC rooms and facilities equivalent to a good hotel. It is better to stay there. Only if there is no room you can go to other hotels outside. There are many nearby. Have a nice darshan of Swmiji. Best wishes. You shall have good time there. You shall face no problems for transport, food and accommodation.
