Bus stop problem! road markings across my drive?

Question:
Buses have always stopped outside my house, which I accept. A bus stop has suddenly been installed outside the house I am attached to and then they proceeded to do the yellow road markings for the bus all the way in front of my house and the entrance to my driveway! So I cannot park on my front at all not even in front of my own drive. We had no letter or any info about them doing this it just happened. Surely this can't be right! HELP.

If it's against the law to drive anywhere in the US over 65 mph, then why are car speedometers over 100 mph?

A public road is a right of way. That means you have a right to pass along it, but nothing else. And even that only applies to people on foot.

What are vehicle inspection regulations like in Europe?

No-one has the right to park a car ANYWHERE on a road - whether it's in front of their own house or not. In fact, no-one has the RIGHT to use a motor vehicle on a public road at all - otherwise you wouldn't need a licence.

Again why no seat belts on school and all buses?

If a bus stops at the, er, stop, it's (legally speaking) not parked. The legal definition of "parked" is "not in use". So if there's a bus there and you want to get in or out, you'll just have to wait a few moments. Sorry.

Why do wheels appear to turn backwards in motion pictures?

Of course, if the bus driver is stopped there having his tea-break, that's a different matter. You can ask him to move, and if he refuses he's guilty of obstruction.

How many car accidents happpen in ayear while on cell phone?

Unfortunately because you don't own the road outside your house they can do this. I still think they should have contacted you about the plan, so contact your local council road dept and complain about no notice given. Good luck.

How can someone over 18 years old learn to drive if they don't have an available adult to teach them?

Unfortunately, technically no-one has a right to park anywhere on the highway, with or without yellow lines, except in designated parking places. So none of us have the right to park in front of our properties, although we all tend to do so.

Why isn't there a speed limit sign on Loving Field Road?

Having said that, it doesn't sound the brightest thing to have done. If I were you, I'd contact the local council or whoever did it and ask how they suggest (in writing) you enter and leave your drive through a bus queue! Their reply would be very interesting.

Is waterballooning cars illegal?

You can park in your drive, and the bus will only be blocking for you for seconds. Not a car that will be parked there for hours unattended

What would you do if you narrowly escaped death?

Any change of use by the council on highways must be announced by a planning poster, usually attached to lamposts in your area. That would have been your time to object. Your rights only apply within your boundaries.
