Question:
i was in an elevator with a few people and someone started jumping and one kid got freaked out and told him to stop because when its moving your multiplying your weight a lot and that it can make the elevator break down or even cause it to crash. right after he said this i started jumping with the other kid in sync with him and the kid got really scared. then i noticed that the elevator was actually shaking a whole lot and we were moving it in short bumps so i decided to stop. would it be possible for just a few people to do this and make an elevator break or crash, and does this really increase the weight load?, or if you fill an elevator to its max capacity, say 25 people and you have it going down with all 25 people jumping together will anything happen?

Why do people feel the need to endanger others by multitasking while driving?
In sort, yes. It is possible, depending on where you jump, how the clearences of the shaft are setup, and how much give the guide rollers allow you.Lots of people drink drive so do you think this is a good idea.?
If you decided to jump in the front of the car, it is possible that the door grabbing mechancism would crash or hit one of the shaft doors, yes.
In America, why cant a 4 way 'stop' at intersection be replaced by 'yeild' to save time ?
There are so many ifs and buts, depending on where the weight in the car is placed, and etc.
Afraid of driving, please help!?
Yes it is possible, but why would you want to do it?
If you fill an elevator to the max, depending on the type of elevator, it wouldn't go anywhere. With a load weighing sensor, the elevator would not move. Although, there are many old elevators without load weighing devices. On a traction(or cable) elevator, it would be possible to slip through the brake and possibly kill someone. It is dangerous.
Drivers license test and parallel parking?
no because it is a steel thick cable holding you up and if it can hold your weight and more then one person at once how could it break by you putting a little more weight than just yours. What age can I turn off child locks on my car?
I would doubt it unless it is a Small private elevator I think the worst you could do is if enough people jumped up and down it could trigger the braking device as it would if a cable broke. You can overload a elevator to the point it will descend by freewheeling or perhaps engaging the braking system
there is only one way to find out. jump in with the maximum capacity and put it to the test. if nothing happens it was just your lucky day!
