I was riding a moped on the road when I was 6 years old.I lived 15 miles from the gas station and my Gramma couldn't drive. So The local sheriff's said as long as my vehicle was registered, I had protective gear on, did not go over 30mph used signals and followed the rules and stayed off the main highway, I could run errands for her and get her her medication at the drugstore and such. Now that was completely illegal, but due to my circumstances the Sheriff's just looked the other way, I would ride my moped to my friends houses, the movie rental store, the town, everything. I did that until I was old enough to drive a car. So as long as parents are teaching their kids responcibility and the rules are strictly enforced, I have no problem. Besides around my part of town its the 18-20year old punks that are really stupid on the road, and 70 year olds (no offense). Heck in Canada you can be 12, there has been no issues that I know of.

Driving age should be raised to 18. At 16 you need a note from mommy when you miss a day of school yet you can drive a 4000lb machine.unless there is a proven need for a hardship liscense at that age they should Not be allowed to driv until atleast 17-18. any practice until then should be done off road with proper adult supervision.
