Answers:
my 15 year old daughter was hit by a car crossing the street in a 25 mile an hour zone?
Any one who has driven around in Kerala knows the risk of being hit or run over by a red bus. They are reckless drivers and Kerala isn't exactly the best place in the world for Traffic discipline. The roads - oh the roads the less spoken of it the better - work as a catalyst for many an accident too.
The police are not as effective in controlling the traffic or the buses. You may in a car get stopped by a cop and fined for lack of a pollution certificate when the bus that just zips by you may be throwing out tons of carbon from their diesel engines.
What is the purpose of strobe lights installed within traffic lights?
So unless the police take a little more pride in their jobs and avoid turning a blind eye to the nonsense in front of them do not expect miracles.
Further unless the public make every endeavour to stop or slow down a speeding bus nothing in this little state is going to change in a hundred years. But why would the common man travelling in a bus want to do that when it is an accepted fact that the fastest and the safest means of travelling from place A to B is on a bus in Kerala. This is because it is known that if a bus hits another vehicle chances are 95% of the times the bus is not so badly wrecked.

The main problem in Kerala is (1) the roads dont have a white line which helps to regulate the to and fro traffic. (2) Riding bikes without helmets should be dealt with by imposing severe fines. (3)Drunken driving should attract a very harsh punishment. (4) Minors who are found driving or riding vehicles should be fined.(5)Many highways connecting towns can be converted into 4 lane expressways.
How do you dispose a cO2 cartridge?
I have not been to Kerala but was in India a few years back. I rode a Royal Enfield 500 classic, (beautiful machine) from Delhi nth to Lei then through Kashmir. You ALWAYS had to have an escape route as the roads are so narrow and with Tata trucks passing each other on blind corners and a motorcycle heading straight for them.........wooooooow!I do hear that there are around 80,000 deaths a year there on the roads!!!
Greater driver and rider education is needed.
