Question:
and does not meet federal standards?
How far does a car travel going 30 mph in 5 seconds?
We bought our son this carseat and I want to buy him a new/safer seat since I heard that it failed safetly tests but I can't find any sites that explain why/how it failed.
Also, this carseat is the one that the hospitals here give away to the patients that don't have one when they are leaving the hospital (my friend went into labor early and they hadn't bought one yet, and this is the one the hospital gave them..) So, why would they give this seat to parents when it hasn't passed federal standards?

Evenflo Discovery Car Seat, What a DISCOVERY!!by papa2798 | Aug 17 '03
Pros: Easy to install, meets all safety requirements, fold down sun visor, cute removable/washable seatcover.
Cons: Don't have any complaints.
That is typical of consumer ratings. Consumer affairs had no problems with it providing the seat belts could be tightened enough to hold it in place.
Why would a cop give a speeding ticket to my son for going 70mph if he was clocked at 84mph?
