I have just passed my test too,
I would advise you not to have your p plates on.
Other drivers beep you because they know you are a new driver,
I decided that I would rather be beeped cos they thought I was ignorant lol !!
Is there a route you have to do all the time ??
Learn that like the back of your hand before you drive elsewhere.
I'm guessing that you are stalling as you have a different car to the one you learned in.
I don't know if you are aware but all clutches are different, which would explain the stalling,
Do you know how many drivers that have been on the road for 30 years that make mistakes, loads I can tell you.
Stand at a roundabout for 5 minutes and you'll see what I mean.
If you couldn't drive, you wouldn't have passed your test.

Put 'P' plates on for a start.
That way other road-users know you are inexperienced and a potential risk to them. They will not try to rush you or put you under too much pressure so you make mistakes.

As for the stalling and leaving indicators running, the stalling could be your seating position rather than not being in control.
The indicators normally cancel themselves these days so if they stay on longer than they should then i wouldn't really worry too much about it!

Use the green plates, then you won't get beebed at. People will keep their distance a bit more, and understand if it all goes wrong, just like a learner driver. With no plates, people will think you are an idiot, pissed up, or just lame, and understandably get peeved off. Do the right thing, use the plates. Ditch them when your ready.

so someone believes in you...
I passed my driving test when i was 46, 3rd time and it's made me a better driver because the more practise you have the more aware you are of what's around you. Everyone stalls even after yrs and the indicator been left on these are things that will stop after a time, don't worry.
Your partner believes in you and he's right, get out as much as you can on your own it will build your confidence. It's only after you pass your test that you really learn how to drive.
