Does anyone else think that pathways are safer for a cyclist?

Question:
I cycle a lot and when i do i mostly do it on the paths.i have some people give out to me for this but really i think its much safer than on the roads.does anyone else think it is dangerously silly for a cyclist to have to cycle on the road.on a road you have cars whizzing by you constantly and you have a very narrow part of the road to use which can play with your co-ordination at times.some drivers on the road are very dangerous and pay no heed to cyclists all too often.crossing at junctions is a nightmare and very dangerous cause all the drivers look out for other cars and give little regard for the cyclists.i feel it is much safer to cycle on paths.even in the worse case scenario if you did knock into someone on the path i think the injuries would be minimal compared to if a car knocked you off your bike.anyone else agree with me?

Answers:

Plzzz tell some point on road safety and how to reduce air n water polution?

I use to commute regularly to work and found it safer on the road. Paths are OK for leisure riding, they can sometimes have blind corners and a lot of people on them. If you move at a good pace it can be very dangerous. If you ride a straight line and obey the rules of the road you will be fine, motorists can predict your moves, don't sway in and out. Look ahead and don't worry what's behind you, just watch the guy ahead of you that may turn in your path and the guy beside you as well as the parked cars and doors opening.
