I take great care to drive always at or below the speed limit regardless of traffic conditions. By acting as a rolling traffic block I feel that I am contributing to road safety by reducing the number of people who drive too fast. Please answer in detail and list your reasons for your opinion. Its people like u that cause accidentsBy slowing everyone down you can't say that you are increasing safety. More likely you will be increasing tailgaiting and roadrage. Not that you should feel any accidents are your fault though, it will all be their's. I usually do about ten clicks over the limit myself, safety doesn't neccesarily increase just because you're going slower.

When driving under the speed limit, you can actually be just as dangerous as someone speeding...especially if you are on a highway. If you are going under the speed limit on a two lane road, you will cause the person behind you to become frustrated. It might cause them to throw caution to the wind just to get around you...resulting in a head-on collision that could hit you too.

Driving at or under the limit is fine. but driving 15 in a 45 is not.I dont know where you are or what your laws are, but here in Tennessee, If you are driving under the speed limit & you have 5 or more cars behind you, it is the LAW you pull off to the shoulder to let them pass.

I think you are doing the right thing. Speed limits (with some stupid exceptions) are there for a reason. I would not tailgate you, I would keep a safe distance despite the dick behind me. Driving too slow below the speed limit for no reason however, can cause accidents and the police are within their rights to have words with you in that case. I have been close to colliding with a (as good as) stationary vehicle on the A19 before, as he was on a bend and driving 20 mph below the speed limit. By driving below the speed limit without good reason (eg snow, ice etc) you could be causing more of a problem than solving. good i drive below the speed limit near schools and town centres etc especially if there may be children regardles of trafic but any where else i keep up with the flow of traffic but if no ones behind or i am going to bug any one i always drive a bit slower than i should do.but preventing traffic from going at the speed limit where there is no obvious danger is silly and doesn't contribute to any thing
Everybody knows that thay are the best driver in the world and all others should do as you wish. If you want to do something useful try campaigning for better driver training (lobby your MP for example). Trying to impose your own standards on everyone else is probably having a negative effect on road safety in your immediate vicinty. Have your driving skill reassessed by the IAM, but be warned you might not like what you find - I didn't but got myself out of some bad habits I'd developed.
