Parking fine?

Question:
i parked in a disabled bay on a saturday dinner time, i displayed my daughters badge one side of the dashboard (it had slid over there whilst driving) and the clock i put to the right time and displayed on the drivers side of the dash , and i took my daughter into a nearby cafe for dinner, (she needs to eat to time or she will go ill) on coming out of the cafe almost an hour later i spotted a parking attendant in the process of ticketing me, so i called out to him and said theres another hour yet what are you doing, he obviously loved his job and smiled at me saying your badge is not displayed correctly they should be side by side, youve a £60 fine to pay if you pay it early its only £30, i was furious i told him the info he needed was on display he cant fine me he just said i can and i have , besides how am i to know that badge is legit you look fine to me, i wasnt about to explain it was my toddler daughters badge, i was too furious to trust my actions, i took the ticket

You must display the badge on top of the dashboard or facia panel of a vehicle with the front of the badge (i.e. the side showing the wheelchair-user symbol) facing forward so that the expiry date is legible from outside of the vehicle when using the parking benefits. If the vehicle does not have a dashboard or facia panel you must exhibit the badge in a conspicuous position so that the relevant details are legible from outside the vehicle when using the parking benefits.

Can I carry a car seat in a Vauxhall Tigra?

They also state: In England and Wales you will need a parking disc (which you can get from the authority issuing the badge) when you park on yellow lines or in a reserved parking place for badge holders which has a time limit. The disc must be displayed every time you park and set to show the time of arrival. Disabled people living in Scotland who intend to visit England or Wales should be able to get this disc from their local Council.

Any suggestions as to what material I can use to re-do the floor of my horse trailer?

Nowhere do the rules say they must be displayed side by side.

Furthermore, the rules refer to the badge being utilised "when the vehicle is being used for the benefit of disabled people", which it was. There is no requirement for the driver to be the disabled person.

how am i supposed to react/steer when i skid on ice? when hydroplaning?

There is no justification whatsoever in what you've told us for the issue of a ticket.

What carseat fits best in an 05 Explorer?? I have tried different makes and models.?

Write at once (politely) to the department of the council which deals with this sort of thing, detailing all the facts.

I wouldnt have payed it

in or out of car in storm?

Photograph it as it was in the window and refuse to pay it, state what he said to you and take it to your local paper

Does putting your car in free gear reduce control during braking?

i would not have paid it. it will cost them more to take you to court and they know it. stick to your guns on this one.
ask them for photographic evidence to prove it was not displayed right

Why and when did the law 70mph and why has it not been increased or decreased?

My elderly next door neighbour recently got a parking ticket in a disabled bay because his badge was upside down. I wrote to the council asking for photographic evidence as my neighbour insisted that it wasn't upside down. The photographic evidence was supplied, showing that his badge was, in fact, upside down but they did waive the fine at the same time.

help!,im sitting my driving test?

You may find it helpful to visit nomoreparkingtickets.com before you write to the council. Other than that, if you write to the council stating that the badge was fully displayed and mentioning what the warden said, adding that you were very upset by the comment, they may waive the fine.

Good luck.

AM I messing up my car??

If you write to appeal, get a certificate of posting when you post it. The time limit is paused while you are appealing and you then have time to pay (the £30 not the £60) if they decide not to waive the penalty.

what is the difference between good and excellent IIHS safety ratings?

in whatever town or city this disgraceful act took place surely has a dept which deals with this type of social harassment especially in your case go to the office and TELL them not wanting to break any laws but you feel this was very unfair if this parking official [person] had any feeling or humanity about their person they would have saw you predicament and wavered the stupid fine i think it is coming to the stage where these attendants should not be allowed to touch another persons property ie lifting wiper blades to serve the fine /cars are individuals private property i feel this is an intrusion of someones property DONT PAY THE FINE

mobile speed cameras?

Write a polite letter to the council. Make sure you address it to the correct department to speed the process up as quickly as poss. Don't go into all the detail you have here (just keep note of it). Explain that all the necessary valid documents were displayed. Mention your daughter and her requirment to stop there and then if you like (that is what you have the badge for). I think that there is a good chance that they will be understanding and reasonably waive the fine. Follow it up with a telephone call to the department if you are worried about the time factor. But the bottom line is - you should not have been issued the ticket

is it true?

Just dispute the ticket stating the reason as the clock being displayed within eyesight of the attendant who was too lazy to look at the other side of the car. Well perhaps not but definitely dispute. I did twice when I forgot to display and got it overturned. Costs them more to follow it up than its worth sometimes.

Do you ever wish the guy who left their signal on while driving over the bridge would just turn?

I had several tickets waived when I lived in Wembley. Each time one was issued you were able to dispute it with the parking ombudsman who was employed by the council.

how do i get a product DOT approved?

You're first step is find out what the appeals process is & try to get the ticket waived. If that doesn't work I would contact the media & try & get the story in the newspapers. No council wants the sort of negative publicity that will generate & they would almost certainly capitulate under the pressure.

Where can I get the deer whistler or some tool that will help keep deer out of my path whilst driving?

It does sound like it would be worth appealing this, all the way to the parking ombudsman.
I appealed a ticket on the basis of bad signage, and got rejected the first time. There was the option to appeal a second time which on failure would cause the fine to go up to £60. So I appealed and won the appeal.

Is it leagle and why to turn left to miss a light at a railroad crossing when the light is red?

I suspect that if there is anything dubious about the ticket they will allow the appeal. And I think this is right in your case.
