I think i was doing about 60mph, maybe a little bit less and I got flashed by a yellow speed camera. I thik the speed limit was 50. Does any one know how many points i will get. and also, how many points would i get if the speed limit was 40 and i was doing 60? by the way, i only had my licence since september, so do u think i wil get a ban?

You wont get a ban but you will get 3 points on your licence for 3 years as well as a nice little fine to top it off for you

it depends what percentage over the original speed limit you were doing as to how many points/ fine you will get. I doubt you will get a ban, im sure you only get banned for driving near 100mph.

we got flashed by the speed cameras a few times never been fined have you recieved the fine yetI think it's 2 points and there isn't always film in the camera - so start worrying when the ticket drops through your letter box. You can always say Jeremy Clarkson was driving - it only takes a picture of the number plate. Just say he was testing a reasonably priced car on the road for Top Gear.

It'll probably be 3 points & £60. If you get 6 or more points in the first two years after passing your test, you revert to learner staus, provisonal licence, L plates & all and you have to take both tests again.its amazing what they think off today eh!! was it male or female? lol!!

In future, just observe what other motorists are doing in the area, befoer shooting of at high speed, hardly anyone sticks to the speed limit, it's highly impracticle at times too.

You will get a fixed penalty fine of £60 and 3 points on your licence. The points will stay on for 3 years and come off in the 4th. You need to send your licence off to have the points added and again to have them taken off.You should be notified within 14 days if you are to be fined etc. If they take longer write back and tell them they are out of time and do not pay. They might say that they have already sent a letter to you and that you have failed to respond. If this happens ask them for proof of posting and proof of delivery. Contact you motoring organisation like the RAC and they will advise you.

In my area at least, Photo tickets are not points off your record. There is no way to tell who was driving. I've been there a few times, and not all the times I was driving. My dad had his truck at the shop I work at, I gave him my car for the day. He got a photo ticket in a playground zone and I ended up having to pay it, as I'm the only one registered to drive that car. No points were taken off my record, I've had 2 other tickets since then and the same story, no points. Looks like you're making excuses.
If you really wanted to you could have recorded the driver in front of you's number plate and reported them afterwards.
There's no excuse for breaking the law. If this other driver was supposedly speeding they would have been caught too ? If they were breaking at that time you would have been able to have passed so stop trying to explain yourself because it won't change the fact that you were in the wrong.
