Question:
I just failed my driving test yesterday and now i feel down and what not. Apparently, the drive was smooth, but the examiner marked me down at lot for not scanning the road ahead of me. If I did, I would of passed as I was marked down 9 points for traffic check. My next test is in 2 weeks. Any pointers? Thanks.

should NH seat belt law be changed?
I failed my first road test when I was 17. The examiner tricked me by telling me to take a left turn then barked out "turn right!" in the middle of the intersection, so I did. Boom, he failed me right there. Today an examiner can lose his job for pulling a stunt like that but back then it was common. I'll never forget how angry and depressed I was. i had to wait two weeks for my license. When I went back I had a different examiner who looked at my previous test and took me through only to that point where I failed last time and said "ok, you passed."tx.dept of public safety inpounded vehicles?
Don't obsess and fixate on it. You'll have the rest of your life to drive a car. When you go back just keep in mind what failed you last time and simply do not do it again. Re-reading the manuals again will only get you more stressed. Examiners are generally much more forgiving the second time around as long as you can demonstrate you understand what went wrong the first time. People fail their first test all the time, it's just a license. Not a mark of self worth.
Good luck.

Read the book again, and then read it again, then have someone quiz you. You would be surprised the number of people who fail the test the first time. Within the next 2 weeks, practice driving with an experienced driver who will help you hone your skills.Good Luck
Douglas explained it best. Driving exam testers routinely 'fail' novice drivers - it's not a big deal. Partly because they want you to really pay attention and know the rules of the road. This is probably going to be your first and only in-car driving exam, and they will never see you again, so they want to make sure you are well-prepared and understand all the little things when it comes to driving.
Most people get sloppy in their driving habits the longer they drive. So, by making you pay attention to everything, they make you a better driver - and you can correct all of us old-timers when you are driving with us.
What are the safe things to do when sleeping in your car?
I also think some of the driving examiners feel really important when they strap on their badge and go to work at their office. Some of them just like the power that they have and nobody is good enough to pass the first time.
Just focus on the things that you were dinged on, practice those things, and retake the test. Show the examiner the respect that he or she is due, drive your very best and you will pass the 2nd time.

Good luck and teach all a lesson in good driving after you get your license. And be safe: wear your seat belts, use your turn signals and check your mirrors. Always.
