Okay im new to this can someone tell me the legal heights for 4x4 vehicles?

i am building me a 1980 model gmc 4x4 ,long wheel base and i used to be into hotrods but im converting to something to play with and i dont know the laws and requirements for how high i can lift it up.i know the bumper can only be so far off the ground and the headlights ithink but not sure ne help u could give me as far as website to look at for that or if u have the answers that would be great. i live inj texas and need them for this state but i would like to have them for all states ne help would be appreciated thanx

Contact your state's Department of Transportation, they will give you all the specs you need for 4x4, pulling trailers, etc.

Why are semi-trucks so inconsiderate on the highway?

You could call the Texas Dept. of Public Safety for the laws in Texas. I don't know of a website that lists height requirements for all states. I do know that Virginia has a very low height, and they enforce it. Oklahoma doesn't seem to worry about the height so much, but you need to have fender flares over your tires to prevent throwing debris from the road.
