Why do people still drive cars that have been bashed in?

i saw a car driving down the street and it looked like a truck rammed into it. I dont think you could open the passenger and side door. isnt that against the law? cant you get pulled over?

It all depends on whether or not all systems are functional and the car is safe to drive. I used to love my beat up old cars, back in the day when I had lots of time to work on them. The more beat up the better. Reason a) I didn't care if I got hit or not because the car was already beat up and worthless. Reason b) the other drivers won't want to come near you because it is obvious that you get into a lot of wrecks and they are afraid they will become one of those wrecks. Reason c) other drivers won't want to come near you because you have so little to lose while they have so much to lose (especially if they are driving a Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche, etc.)

it depends on the extent of the damage to which the law will pull you over. when it has hood damage it should not be on the road.
