I just found from someone out that that its the completlety wrong to drive with your foot resting on your clutch, they said its to late to change now as i have been learning like that and have my test in a couple of weeks. But i will get a minor for it. How could my instructor not have noticed all this time? Do any of you drive with your foot resting on the clutch all the time?
I've been doing it from the first driving lesson i had, so i didn't know any better.

It is wrong to drive with your foot resting on the clutch. If you engage it slightly, you can prematurely wear it out. The instruction manual for my car mentions this. I'm surprised the driving instructor didn't pull you up on it.

in answer to your other points, you use the clutch a lot when driving. Try a few times without resting your foot on the clutch and see how you go. If it is too hard, then leave it till after you pass.

That definetly is a bad habit. Try using the dead pedal next to the clutch to rest your foot on.Yeah, don't drive with your foot on the clutch, it can't be good for it and well you just should'nt do it.

save your money you will be needing a new clutch soon-get out of that habit. That is very, very did I say very bad for clutch life. NO i do not rest my foot on the clutch and I have been driving manual a long time. I think that was one of the things I was taught-DO NOT REST YOUR FOOT ON THE CLUTCH

I don't know how old you are, but I would suggest that you forget about your test and learn how to overcome this. It will distract you because you will be very conscious of it and possibly cause you to make a mistake that will fail you.
