Is buying a vehicle at auction typically a safe way to go?

Question:

Answers:

what is the stopping distance for a bus?

It depends on the auction. If it is an estate auction, then you can usually get an older low-mileage car for a good price. If it is an auto auction (the ones that sell hundreds of cars every week) then I would stay away. They don't let you test drive them and they are often "problem cars" that dealers took on trade-in and are trying to off-load. I bought one of these - the worst car I ever owned.

is it safe to ride in a car with an asian at the wheel?

Not really. Keep in mind, at auction you buy a vehicle 'as-is'. There is no warranty, and you usually don't know what you just bought until you get it home.

Buying from a dealer isn't much safer, but at least you have the option to buy a certified vehicle or a warranty, and at least have someone else to lean on should repairs be needed.

How many seat belt are in the rear seat of a 2000 mercury cougar?

I have bought several vechicles, if only to fix them and sell for alot more. A couple bikes, like vulcan 750's I bought for 200 bucks (no one bidded on them) and put about another 200 in them and sold them for 1500 each.

I need to know?

I shy away from company vechicles- usually they are very ragged out from employees driving and not caring. But for the most part, have been fairly happy with buying at auction.

no

I saw a McDonalds tractor trailer today at one of their local stores. How I could I buy one?

NOOOO, unless you can test drive the vehicle or inspect it before you start bidding on a vehicle. Going to a few auto auctions you see a lot of ticked off people because of some major problems with the vehicle is discovered. (blown motor, tranny, brakes are shot, been in a major accident and never disclosed).

Unless you can keep track of the number that is placed on the vehicle and you have looked at it closely enough I would not bid on any of these vehicles. WALK AWAY!
