What's the best way to drive on ice without sliding?
The Seat belt for the driver is designed to hold the driver in the seat, and not fall into the stairwell in a dangerous situation or severe jostling.what is the age/weight a child can be before they go from car seat to booster?
The seat belts are on handicapped buses more to keep special needs children in their seats than to keep them safe in an accident.
There are several reasons we don't have seat belts on school buses.
I take my driving test on friday.?
First, seat belts can get used as weapons, especially by fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades, when a child's respect for seat belts are starting to fade away.
Second, the the "Energy Absorption" material the seats are made of protect children pretty well already (as long as they stay in their seats.)
Why would an ambulance leave a wreck with lights flashing, but no sirens?
Third, deaths and serious injuries ON a school bus are extremely rare. Most fatal accidents involve a child being hit or run over after getting out of the bus.
Fourth, seat belts cost money, and make the buses more expensive. Theoretically, the added cost of the seat belts might discourage school districts form providing extra transportation for children. And since riding a bus is three to four times safer than riding in a family car, seat belts might actually cost more lives.
is Arrowspeed a brand of Avon tyre?
Please believe me, nothing is under more scrutiny than school bus safety. Your state probably has many employees who do nothing but regulate school bus safety programs, and your school district works very hard to protect children as well.
I'm confused on driving a standard?
Yes, it's terrible. My wife & I won't let our kids ride the school buses for field trips. We take time off work and drive them ourselves.what to do when you are drunk and driving and police stop you?
Fortunately, we have good jobs with flexible schedules.
Not really. Think about it, they arent needed that much, just for a roll-over, or collision with another large vehicle. Plus not all kids are "shaped" the same, and it would cost alot of money to fit the busses with seatbelts
what medications should be on a hospital code crash cart?
YES!! This makes absolutely no sense to me! WTF? I have a 9 yr old daughter and I haven't allowed her to ride the school bus since she has been going to school. I refuse. A news program that I saw a couple of months ago said that it was because the padded seats were so big and high backed that if an accident occurred, the students would be "cushioned" against a blow? WHAT ABOUT THE STUDENTS THROWN AROUND IN THE AISLE? What about the students being thrown into each other? THIS IS CRAZY and I can't believe that in this day and age of safety that buses still don't have seat belts! Great Question!Yes I do. Even after a child was killed in a school bus accident here a couple of years ago, the local schools still haven't installed belts.
how am i supposed to react/steer when i skid on ice? when hydroplaning?
I don't find it alarming at all.Unless you missed it, a school bus is bigger & heavier than 95% of the other vehicles on the road.
They are built much stronger than a car or SUV.
Even in a crash or rollover, the occupants are safer than in most other vehicles.
In theory, only professional drivers are allowed.
I don't believe that seat belts would improve safety a bit, if anything, they would make it worse.
Are you going to be the 'Seat Belt Mom' that rides the bus to be sure everyone is buckled every time?
Or do we raise taxes and hire a seat belt monitor for each bus?
