How far from a building doies a Jet A fuel truck need to be parked and whats the rule?

seems like at the airport, jet A fuel trucks are parked within feet of buildings. This doesn't seem all that saf

I don't believe that there is a set rule on how far the JetA truck needs to be from the building. But if they are refueling and aircraft that is at the gate (which they usually are) they do need to be near the terminal. You will see that they take a cord from the truck and clip in onto the aircraft. That is to ground it.

There is no rule about how far from a building other than the local fire codes. However there is a strict rule of at least 50 feet from smokers and 500 feet from an open flame. Jet A is not as flammable as AVGAS, but it does seem reckless to put 500 gallons+ of highly flammable liquid next to a building during these times.
