Rub Your Police Man's Stomach?
Army regulations state that a convoy will always travel with the headlights on while on public roads. This is to do two things. One is to make the convoy members visible to the convoy leader, and the second is to make them more visible while traveling on highways. When in tactical mode (usually in a combat zone or training facility) all lights are extinguished with the exception of blackout lights, which are small marker lights that can only be seen a short distance. Why do people drive on the different side of the road in the UK?

They're camoflaged vehicles. It might not seem much cover when you're close to them but spread over a mile or more of open road they can be hard to see.I need your advice, should i put in for my driving test?
The regulations say that they use their lights so that they can see each other and oncoming road users can see them.
It is for safety purposes to make them more readily visible. Many professional drivers do this as well in 18 wheelers. I always drive with my headlights on for this reason, I started doing it when I owned a silver Monte Carlo, it blended in too easily with the color of aged asphalt...you know silver/gray car...silver/gray rd, now it is just a habit with me. If you begin doing it, at first always check to see that you turned off your lights when you park, after awhile it'll become 2nd nature.

I do not see the word convoy in this question. The armed forces driving school was about a quarter of a mile from my home and there was a constant stream of vehicles all day long.Yes whether in convoy or not they had lights on because they are not only camouflarged but because they are not required by law to conform to the construction and use regs some have bits sticking out are best noticed and given a wide berth.
1998 windstar windows, heater, turn signals, radio, dont work?
I think it is an requirement for military vehicles for safety .I run my lights on all the time. There is times when some people, just don't see you if you are not close, maybe they have trouble seeing or just have their minds on something else, I don't know. So, I feel a lot better with them on. i got use to that while I was driving a truck.
