Question:
In times of inclimate whether, snow and ice in particular, the news always reports that there is a need for people with 4 wheel drive cars to transport the emergency medical staff workers to the hospital.
Why do the signs posted on roadways list SPEED limits instead of VELOCITY limits?
That makes me wonder why the hospital does not keep a few of these vehicles on hand so that they can transport the staff to and from work in times like this. The emergency room patients always manage to make it to the hospital without 4 wheel drive cars. Why do the doctors and nurses need to depend on volunteers to drive them to work?
Answers:
I've never heard of this and I worked at a hospital for nearly 20 years in a state that has a lot of snow. All the doctor's I know drive themselves into work at the hospital with their own cars during heavy snow storms.
