I live on a "No Motor Vehicles Except For Access" road which is used as a "rat run". The County Council say they can't close the road off as the road is not wide enough for a turning circle/area.

I suggest that you re-challenge the official who gave you that information and ask him to quote you chapter and verse from the Act or Bye-Law which he seems to think applies. I bet he can't!

There isn't a minimum, but the council has recognised that vehicles wouldn't be able to turn around without damaging other peoples cars and property when they discover that the road had been closed off.More Questions & Answers ...
