Question:
I have kind of a small car, which works for me because I'm not tall... The passenger side doesn't have an airbag. Also, most of my friends and my dad are all really tall and have to scrunch in that seat. I think it is unsafe because there isn't even an airbag, (it's a 1994)
Do people ever get airbags installed? Does it involve taking apart the whole dash area?
Answers:
Why do we have to wear a seat belt and motorcycle riders don't have to wear a helmet?
i own a repair shop, and it is possible ,but the cost of doing this would be outrageous ,by the time it got wired in,and you got it all up and working you could trade cars and come out better that way, usually anything that didn't come with an air bag,is not worth putting one in,good luck,i hope this help,s.Who gets the seat belt ticket?
Wow, better off buying a new car. Like asking if you can add two extra wheels to a car.An airbag must be specifically engineered for the vehicle it is installed in. There is no such thing as an aftermarket airbag. The way an airbag deploys in an accident depends on the shape of the dashboard, how it is mounted, and the structure of the car. If the airbag is not designed and installed properly, it could cause more injury to your passenger than not having one at all.
If you really want an air bag on the passenger side of your car, then buy a newer car that comes from the factory with an airbag properly designed and already installed.
