Question:
I was recently clamped for parking on my own driveway. I parked where i always park, then went upstairs to drop off shopping and then came back 2 minutes later to get the rest to find a clamp on my wheel. I then phoned the number on the notice to find out what was going on simply to be told " You'll have to wait a couple of hours, no-ones on duty." Upon a clamp-man arriving and my questioning the clamp, the grant mitchell lookalike told me he could put more clamps on for every time i disputed it, thus multiplying the fine. My local council authority (waverly) then told me it wasn't their problem, despite the clamping contract being in their name, because they don't pay the clampers, the clampers simply keep the fines. Now im sorry, but i think this is a bit ridiculous. Why do these clampers seem to be a law unto themselves?
Answers:

Honda Odyssey or Kia Sedona, and why?
I'm pretty sure that if they don't have authority to operate somewhere then you surely have a reason to appeal. Is your drive actually your drive? Are you a person who always wears a seat belt no matter how long the journey?
And it is the councils' problem as the clamping company's contract is with your council.
Have you ever gone faster then 100 mph!!?
Have a word with your local paper, i'm sure they'll be very interested.
I think you should seek advice form the citizens advice bureau! Your driveway is considered private property and thus they have no right to clamp your car! Is that not trespassing!!
Do you think the 60mph UK national speed limit is too high on non trunk routes ?
You're leaving way too much out here. Was it your car that you parked in the driveway for a minute, or one you had borrowed that they would have no way of telling was authorized to park there? If there is a system using stickers, did you have yours showing, or did you figure you didn't need it for "just a minute."?My air bag went off will my car start?
If it was your car, and properly marked as appropriate to park in that space, then I apologize on behalf of my fellow towers. If not, just follow the rules and it won't happen again.
Stopped for Driving with headlights off...?
Do you live in a house or apartments? Did you block someone else's path way? If not, that was totally unfair! UnbelivableWhy is it dangerous to talk on a cell phone while pumping gas?
My opinion is that wheel clamping is against international laws anyway. The person having their car clamped is being accused, convicted and penalised (fined) of a crime without any access to the right of a fair trial. Also they are effectively having access to their possesions (in this case the car) taken away from them by a pseudo-bailiff armed with a wheel clamp. Recent government legislation states that you can use reasonable force to protect your family and possessions, so if someone tried to clamp my car I would kick them in the nuts. You may not park your vehicle and leave it unattended within how many feet of a fire hydrant?
This type of person is just a parasite, just stamp on it.I had something similar so I smacked him one on the nose.
