If it was 2 bobbies on a foot patrol it is very unlikley that you will hear from them, unless they were traffic officers operating a speed gun, then they would have stopped you there and then. If they were just routine foot patrol officers they would have no way of detecting your speed, and without a speed gun or a calibrated speedometer in a police car you cannot be reported for an excess speed offence. If it was a camera you have to be notified within 14 days, its called a Notice of Intended Prosecution.
