Question:
Is there a hidden anchore somewhere on the backseat floor to anchore down a rear-facing child carseat. I'm able to anchore it thru the seat part of the carseat with the seatbelts but, can't figure out how to anchore down the back of the seat (there is a strap connected to the carseat).

How old do you have to be to get a leerners license in Florida??
First of all you need to make sure that this seat is actually one that can be used as a rear facing seat. Second, whichever way you use to strap a seat into a car (seat belt or the anchor/L.A.T.C.H. system) you ONLY use one way NEVER both at the same time.ADVANCeD DRIVING TeST........?
If your seat truly is a convertible seat (one that can be used front or rear facing seat), the strap at the top on the back is only to be used when the seat is front facing. It is used to anchor the seat to the little bar in the back window of the vehicle. (see your owners manual). On rear facing seats (either infant carriers or convertible seats), they should never be anchored down like that. The way they are designed to work in a crash is such that they need room to move. In a crash, the rear facing seat absorbs the majority of the energy from the crash because the child is too small to handle the force. The seat (when in correctly) is designed to absorb the initial impact and then sort of fold up against the back of the back seat, cocooning the child within the seat.
How is it safer to travel in an airplane than in a car?
Please find a certified car seat tech in your area (call your local police station to find one) and have them inspect the seat and instruct you on the proper use, installation and purpose of why it's installed that way.
nothing built in to the car, you bought the wrong childseat, refund it and get it done somewhere proper like halfords
