If it's a common thru-way, then unfortunately it would be your fault for not seeing it. But depending on what state/city you live in, it could be listed as a "no fault" accident, in which neither of you are to blame, and you'd be responsible for your own car repairs. But this all depends on whether you hit it and took off, or waited around for the person or left a note. If you ski-dooed outta there and someone saw you, you're screwed.
