is it safe to drive on a cracked rim?
Any water in the gas will dissolve some of the sugar which will be transported to the engine where the combustion of the gas air mixture in the cylinder will carbonize the sugar. This carbon will build up in the cylinders until the pistons will not be able to compress it and the engine will not operate. How many car accidents have been caused by people sneezing? Fatalities?
the sugar will crystalize which in turn will plug your fuel line, injectors and so on very bad !Driving tests, what ridiculous reasons did you fail for?
Your car will run sweeter. {;-)The Mythbusters showed that sugar in the gas tank does no harm. They did talk about crystallization and did express a concern about it.
I would think that it would take numerous applications of sugar to the gas to have any harmful effect.

Ever eat caramel? Imagine that in your engine.tastes better yummmm!!
This is one of the oldest urban legends still around. I have been associated with the car repair industry for over thirty years and I can honestly say that sugar in the fuel will NOT 'trash' an engine, it will NOT bond onto the combustion chambers and it will NOT require replacement of the block, connecting rods, etc. Numerous studies have been done to quell this long lived myth, one very exhaustive one done by Marathon Oil called 'Operation Sugar'. They went so far as to actually dump a five pound bag of sugar into the intake of a running engine, (after days of attempts to damage it through fuel and oil contamination) until the engine completely stopped. They removed and cleaned the carb. and intake, started the engine, ran it until warm and did a compression test -- all results were normal. Sugar placed in the fuel tank does do harm -- it results in extensive cleaning of the fuel tank, replacement of the pump and all fuel filters. I have personally handled dozens of claims of this nature and have never seen a bad engine as a result. I HAVE seen some that were bad PRIOR to the sugar contamination -- if you get my drift...
