Question:
I am a new driver, and when I am driving it takes me alot of time to look at a mirror and be able to make some sense on whats going on my right side. I have trouble looking at my right mirror and realizing that if the car is too close or just right for me to pass them. This process takes me a few seconds and by that time my car has traveled a good distance with me not looking ahead.
Answers:
How is it safer to travel in an airplane than in a car?
side mirrors show objects as being closer than they really are. always do a look over the shoulder before switching lanes. another car could be in the blind spot. bike's are even smaller than cars and will be in the blind spot sooner.if a car isnt fully in the rear view mirror, chances are, he's too close for u to switch lanes safely. always double check the blind spot. all cars have them.
When I drive through a tight space I hold my breath as if my car will breathe in too!!?
It's good to have a good feel of your car. Try getting used to the length of your car, the acceleration speed, and the visibility. Your middle-vertical of your right mirror should be center to your rear trunk. And your mirror should show much or any of the side of your car. It will take practice to get used to mirror reflexes, but I think you can do it with much practice. And be careful about car in front of you while trying to look in the mirrors.what is the little car the Japanese drive in the WII commercial? Is it available in the states?
You shouldn't rely on just the mirrior's to realize if you can move into another lane. Turn your head and look. Once you have more time behind the wheel then you will be able to judge by just the mirror's.What does flashing your headlights at an intersection mean?
For some safe practice try backing up using your mirrors only. Do this in your drive way so you don't have to worry about other traffic.Practice and experience. It takes time for the mind to be able to process the info ya get from mirrors. LoL. And any dyslexia makes it worse, cuz the image is ALREADY reversed. Just keep at it, and use the mirrors as a backup. If ya can see thru the windows. Over shoulder looking is always the best. Especially at night. Staring straight into one's headlights is no help to visibility. lol.
