Drive with a cell phone. If you start feeling the least bit fearful, pull over and give a friend a call. Also, buy a mobile GPS device. You'll know where you are at all times and you'll get to your destination without any wrong turns.

is my 15month old son allowed to sit in the front of the car in his car seat in the UK?

I used to be scared of driving long distances by myself as well. *Especcially* if I had never driven that route before.
What cured me was actually getting a little lost! I took the wrong exit and drove pretty far away from the highway before I realized. I was scared of the highway and I paniced when I realized I didnt know where I was. But then, you realize that it isnt so bad...You look for signs, keep calm and once I realized how easy it was to find my way back, I never worried about it again.
I also keep at least 20 bucks in my glove compartment for gas, a coffee, a snack, whatever! It much more comforting knowing you have that extra money incase you need it.
If Im going somewhere new by myself, I make sure to get detailed directions, plus I print out the directions on Map Quest and know that if I get lost, I can just pull over and figure out where I should be.
A cellphone is also very comforting, but I dont have one and I still feel confident driving where ever I need to go. Once you experience *having* to drive through difficult traffic, you see that it isnt all that bad! Good Luck!!

on any highways, what is the things on each sides of the highway, that when u drive on it, makes a sound.?

Be prepared! make sure your spare tire is filled and all the tools to replace it are in their propper place and working, and that you know how to use them. Bring a set of jumper cables just in case. Check your tire pressure and your fluids before you go. And always bring a good atlas that has all the areas you will be going through just in case you need to stop somewhere unexpectantly. Know where you will need to buy gas ahead of time and dont push it, and be sure to pay attention to mile markers as you go. I like to focus on signs and mile markers which helps me stay awake and alert. And take a cell phone with you but dont use it while your driving, pull over if you have to. Oh and if the area your traveling through is nice, pull over from time to time and check the view. The drive is half the fun!
