Is it illegal to park your car facing on coming traffic at night and without your lights on.?

Question:
The reason im asking is that my girlfriend was reversing in a cul de sac and hit a car that was parked on the wrong side of the road, she knows she should of been paying more attention but she wasent expecting the other car to be there.
I know it is illegal in Scotland to park on the wrong side of the road but does this law exist in England.
Thanks

By definition, there really is not a "wrong side" to a cul de sac.... it's a circle. It's her fault for being careless, and in a residential area, the parking enforcement is probably less rigid than in a downtown area. I seriously doubt that you have any recourse against the other party for parking in the fashion that they did. That's just my opinion though. Good luck.

It is not illegal, but it is safer for you to park the other way, as the back of all UK cars have reflectors in the tail lights, and there are no reflectors at the front. That way, all cars approaching yours will see your vehicle much easier
