Car accident?

Question:
I was involved in a car accident over the weekend. A lady coming south made a left turn while I am driving north and I tried to save both of us from the collision, but finally I hit a traffic pole. My car was damages by the passenger side. The police was right there and saw everything. However the lady drove off from the scene. The police wrote how the accident happened on the accident report. Nothing happened to traffic pole except scratches. My insurance company is fixing my car. I have never had any accident prior to this neither speeding thicket. Do you think this will be seen as my fault? Also, I have some minor pain in my back and jaw after the accident, but I am afraid my insurance company will raise my rate if I go to the doctor. Could any one advice me what to do.
Thanks.

Can someone find out who you are by your license plate?

Get a lawyer, of course. You are injured due to a car accident and have a right to compensation to cover medical expenses, property damage, pain and suffering, and medical bills. I would check out the yellow pages for a personal injury plaintiff lawyer. Check out http://www.yellowpages.com or http://www.targetlaw.com

The local BMW garage uses a bit of inner city dual road as a test track, shall I call the police?

You have insurance so that it will pay for your damages. If you don't use it when you need it, you're essentially paying them for nothing. Being afraid to go to the doctor because your rates may go up is foolish. GET TO THE DOCTOR. If the police stated that the accident was the fault of another driver, it should not affect your rates anyway, but that should NEVER be a consideration in seeking medical attention if you need it.

Have you tried the spray you put on your number plate which makes it invisible to speed cameras?

Go to the doctor. Fault will be determined later. The other driver leaving the scene does not look good for them.

How safe is it to cycle around?

Insurance will cover everything. Any time you are in a auto accident you will suffer soreness, aches and pains for a couple of days and then it will go away. However, if the discomfort increases then definitely go see your doctor and report it to the insurance company.

When driving,why do people speed?

Your rates may go up but not much but that is what insurance is there for you. Also, I hope you have coverage for uninsured and/or drive away accidents. If you have liability coverage then you will have no coverage for repairs and medical expenses.

Do you.?

,keep a camera in your car a disposable one is best.if possible take as many pictures as you can your car, there car, blackmarks, weather cond.DO NOT! offer apologies or explanations, this is for the ins investigators and police to do.not you! get all the info possible.especially if your not at fault.its called C.Y.A..cover your ***.sounds like you did what you could to avoid an even more serious accident.probably will not be seen as your fault.but if you can find her she can be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

What does a sound like water boiling mean?

Ask the policeman--he saw it. Seems to me you were trying to avoid an accident, which would have been her fault for not yielding the right-of-way while making a left turn.

Would anyone care to share with me their driving test experiences?

And if she is at fault, have HER insurance company pay for your injuries!

Is it just me or have buses become jerkier in recent times?

You have to prove the accident happened the way you say it did, but most likely your insurance won't put you at fault. Why don't you just talk to your adjuster for the answers to your questions as they are in a better position to advise you than here.
