Question:
I have a 1995 Mazda MPV,(mini van to those that dont know).
It drives and runs ok but when I turn the wheel to go around corners my whole vehicle makes a loud creaking noise. Its kinda nerve wracking and im wondering if its dangerous.
Is there a one hour rule when towing a car away?
thank you.
Answers:
how can we educate drivers on the hazards of tailgating the car in front of them?
I am laughing at all you guys who said CV joints, because until the year 2000, the MPV is REAR WHEEL DRIVE. IT DOES NOT HAVE CV JOINTS!! Fortunately, it isn't dangerous, but ck your struts, as they creak when you turn when they are bad. GOOD LUCK!What is oldest person to have passed their driving test in UK- and how long did it take them?
Sounds like your CV joints are going. Get to a mechanic before it gets worse as it can end up being a costly job if you leave it too long.It sounds like the shocks might be going bad or possibly a CV joint, a quick way to see if its the CV joint is to drive the van in reverse, crank the steering wheel to one side and drive backwards in a circle (An empty parking lot is the best place to do this). If the noise gets louder as you drive and turn backwards it's the CV joint and it will probably need replacing.
Without more info or actually hearing the sound myself it's hard to say for sure what the problem is.
Who here is thinking of installing a video cam on their car?
Most reputable repair shops will do an initial inspection of the vehicle for little or no money. I would encourage you to take it to a local shop, let them have a look and then go from there.
Turning Left onto a Busy Intersection?
It sounds like the CV joints (constant velocity) are going bad. Eventually they will break and the vehicle will not move.More Questions & Answers ...
