Why do tall people think they can dictate your seat position on buses and planes?

Question:
I just finished a three day/night bus trip. Twice I encountered people who gave me crap about reclining my seat because they had long legs. I gave in rather than get into more conflict with them. Yeah, they would have been less comfortable with my seat back, but hey, I was less comfortable not being able to put it back. It's hard enough sleeping on a bus without being able to lie back a little.
Maybe they should have to purchase two seats like really fat people have to sometimes.
Next time I will recline my seat, and if you kick it, I'll kick yer head, ya selfish futher muckers!

You are following a galloping horse, there is another behind you?

Most tall people try to purchase the seats on airplanes that are friendliest to them (exit seats and those to the front of a section in a plane), but in most cases those seats fill up because the general public wants their space as well. I should also mention that those seats with the most room are generally more expensive anyway, and forcing them to buy a second seat really doesn't help since they are vertically challenged rather than horizontally like the morbidly obese that are often made to purchase second tickets. Also, one main purpose for making heavier people buy a second ticket also has to do with the fact that that person weighs significantly more than the average flier, and thus costs the airline more money in fuel.

what is an "unmanned parking enforcement system"?

Here's an idea.. Next time you're on a bus or a plane with a taller person sitting behind you consider the fact that that person is probably uncomfortable just being in a bus or plane. If being inside of one makes you feel like you've been shoved inside a sardine can, just imagine how someone taller than you must feel. The tall person sitting behind you probably had a difficult time just crawling to his seat. And I bet he wants to sleep too, but the person in front of him keeps smashing his knee caps with his chair. Add this to the joint aches and pains that taller people generally have when traveling and it makes for a pretty miserable trip.

True or False: In a crash, seat belts "ride down" the affect of the crash.?

The point is traveling isn't great or comfortable for anyone. Be more compassionate of other passengers and they will likely be more compassionate towards you.. And it makes the trip a bit less stressful.

what do you think speed cameras or those signs that flash and tell you?

As a tall person, I don't dictate to anyone how they position their seat, so quit painting with such a broad brush. It was YOUR seat that YOU paid for. YOU had the option of reclining it or not. YOU chose not to. Quit blaming YOUR decision on someone else. If the bus wasn't full, you could have moved to a different seat or the person behind you could have moved to a new seat.
