Its time America for us to take a stand and have these people in State and Federal Offices to raise the speed limits. I am sick of doing 65 & 70 mph on the freeway and I know I can go much faster and still be safe. Well tell me how you feel about this issue?

I live in Florida. Today I saw an accident scene that gave me the chills. I was driving from Tampa to Ft Myers, FL and saw a car that had flipped over several times, and was so flat and damaged that I could not discern what make or model it was. The posted speed limit of this particular highway is 70mph, which means most people go about 80mph or faster and are not very courteous either.Are aircraft tires approved by DOT?
The point of my short story, which in fact is true, is that while YOU might be able to drive faster, there are other people on the road that are not comfortable at that rate of speed and many commercial vehicles that are governed to 75mph or lower that you need to pay attention and yield to when they signal.
I'm not sure where you live, and the volume of traffic may be much lower, but for where I live and work, in many cases, the speed limit is either too high or just right. In fact, we could use stiffer enforcement of the speed limit so that people might in fact drive a little safer here. But, that is only relative to where I live and my experience here.

dude, it's not even a big deal...you need to live life a little slower and enjoy it man. raising the speed limtis will only get you to where ever you are going a few minutes faster.Here in Indiana nearly everyone drives 80 even tho the speed limit is 65 and 70. People ride your *** if you don't.

If you want to go faster, the only thing stopping you is common sense.A lot of people drive faster than the posted limit, and often don't get ticketed for speeding.

I would say about 95% of the drivers on the toll road I saw today would agree with you. I want to say the pack of cars I was traveling with was doing about 80-85... um... well... thats my guess as I watched them pull away... yeah... that's right.if u really want to go fast, just get a gsxr-750. that will outrun practically all 4 wheelers, but u wont be able to outrun motorola, or aircraft. if u biff it, u'll only kill urself and not trigger a multi-car pileup that will get innocents killed also. i have a feeling u wont last a month into the season.

Every year I see people killed because they didn't have a clue what to do when an emergency arose at high speed. Our roads are not built to tolerances that support much higher speeds. In comparing with the Autobahn, there is not a road in Canada or the US that has a base greater than 25% of the Autobahn base, and there is not a road that is patrolled daily checking for problems as they do on the Autobahn. And for all the yakking about high speed being safe, accidents on the Autobahn are spectacular.
