Question:
i was wondering on the nj driving test are you supposed to use hand over hand steering or do you need to shuffle the wheel through your hands?
Answers:
Why is it that when youre driving home, the slowest driver is always in the #1 lane??
It's been quite some time since I took the NJ drivers test, but I'll tell you what I can remember and what I would think is the best to do. First of all, remember to keep your hands at 10 and 2 for the majority of the test. If you use the hand-over-hand method, do not do it too much(for example, your right hand should not go past 10 in a left turn, and the left past 2). The biggest concern the will have is when the steering wheel is returning to center as you exit the turn, do not let the wheel return on it own with your hand loosely around it. Do the reverse and over hand. That shows control at all times. If I may ask, are you taking the test at Bakers Basin? I took mine there, and in my opinion I should not have passed based on my parallel parking. I don't know if it is because it is a closed course, but the guy actually had the door open with his head out telling me to turn the wheel right and left.I did however, have one hand on the wheel and one on the transmission(auto) when we were stopped. He told me that was wrong, but I told him I usually drove a manual transmission so that is how I'd be sitting and he said OK.
KEEPING DRIVING AGE AT 16, anyone for it?
Remember you must have a car with either a hand operated parking brake between the two front seats, or a bench seat where the instructor has access to the pedals, otherwise they won't let you take the test.
Use the hand over hand method.
