safest option is to "shuffle". you can keep control of the wheel better that way. Dont do it quickly. Steady and with purpose is best.

Although it really depends on which facility you take your road test at, generally, hand over hand is considered best, as it allows for a constant smooth turning action throughout any sized turn. Still, you may "feed" it through if you can not do hand over hand. Whatever you do, do not palm it (one handed). Additionally, coming out of a turn, you may either bring it back manually, or use controlled slippage (sliding the wheel back). Best of luck!
