Cycle helmets are NOT really crash impact rated. They just get dropped o simulate FALLING off a bike - not coliding with a car at 30 or 50mph.Personally, I ALWAYS wear when offroad, but never on road as it's protection is much reduced with the generally higher speeds.
ps. i've walked away from several high speed RTA's on a cycle without a helmet - do around 7000miles a year all on road commuting & training.
