It depends - if you're referring to the area on a freeway or other highway, commonly known as the "shoulder," then by all means yes. Generally speaking, if there is no sign prohibiting parking or standing, then such action is permissible, especially for emergency situations. Shoulders are designed for emergency parking only, and for emergency services to pass by.
Why aren't buses required to have seatbelts?
However, it is not permissible in most jurisdictions to park in bike lanes - this is usually noted with a "No Parking" placard posted next to or near a "Bike Lane" placard. Not all white lines along the sides of roads denote bike lanes, though - some are merely edge lines to indicate the location from which road width is measured.
have they changed the age for driving yet??is it still 16?
There doesn't need to be a sign posted! How long have you been driving? Any solid white line means you "cannot pass" - the solid while line running down the "curb" or "dirt" side of the road is intended to remind drivers not to "pass" on that side. If you were pulling over, signal on, and stopping for some reason, just make sure, that this "solid white line" is not the beginning of an "exit" ! Why in the hell would you want to pull over there anyway?Depends on what you mean by "pull over". If you mean stopping for some emergency then yes. If you to pass some one who is going slower, no. Refer to your drivers handbook for further information.
