What is the typical life span, i.e. miles one can get out of a recapped tire?

Question:
I am looking at purchasing some studded snow tires for use in snow and icy road conditions. The tires are recapped ( I assume this means retreads). Use of same, per year, would be about one or two weeks tops, as these conditions, while they do occur from time to time, are not prevalent, just annoying and hazzardous to one's health. For the rest of the year the tires would sit in covered storage. If known, what would one expect to pay for a 14" tire, each?
