The crack is down the middle and barely visable. It really doesn't obscure my vision. It has almost reached as high as the rear view mirror. I don't want to spend the money to replace it if I don't have to. I constantly get little chips here and there. Whats the danger by not replacing?

If a large enough rock (or other object) that was picked up by the tires of the car in front of you hit your windsheild it could go right through it and possibly send glass shards flying towards your head.Is it legal to drive with a sling on my arm in South Carolina?
Not kidding, happened to my father who didn't replace his windsheild on his Bronco II. Luckily the rock didn't smack him and he didn't need to think twice about getting it replaced again.

If the crack is spreading, it will not protect you like it should. I'm not sure about rollover strength, as I don't believe that is it's intent, but will certainly provide less protection from objects hitting it.why dont people use there light signal when turning?
Usually, a small superficial crack is not a big deal (although you can still get a ticket for having one). However, a crack that goes all the way through will continue to spread and become an issue. If yours is spreading, it likely goes all the way through. Run your fingernail over the crack on both sides of the glass and see if your nail stops or catches. If it only catches on one side, then the crack does not go all the way through, and may not spread. However, if the crack goes through to both sides (which is sounds like it does if it is already spreading), then it will continue to spread and could present a problem.
