Why do drivers make things so complicated for themselves on the road. The rules are clearly outlined in the Highway Code. They are not hidden or encrypted. If everyone drove accordingly the traffic would flow much more smoothly and driving would be a pleasure.
It doesn't take a PhD to know that.
Driving is the one single thing you will perform where you will require the use of all your senses to work harmoniously and to be fully concentrated on the task.

People just seem to make up answers and then ARGUE that they are right, even those the highway code clearly says different.
Try asking a question like "who has right of way when pulling out onto a motorway" and see what drivel you get.

Because it's in our nature to be curious... especially if we know that the result will not be good or if it will only bring us troubles... Blame it on that thing they called "CURIOUSITY"...because rules are there to be broken. if they say drive at 30mph NO i want to drive at 60mph just because i can.and for those of you that dont already no this if you speed past a camera in the opposite direction it sets it off you need to do this at least 10mph over the limit to work and preferably in the dark. lots of fun when its the slow people on the other side or a lorry or even a milk float.

Well, in the area that I live, most people are foreign and I suspect that they do not have UK driving licenses. Therefore they have most probably never read the Highway Code.how am i supposed to react/steer when i skid on ice? when hydroplaning?
That sounds racist or something and I don't mean it like that ... my own driving license was issued in New Zealand. I never bothered to get a UK one as I don't drive here - I live in London and there's no need to. Legally (within the first year of arrival) I would have been able to drive here without ever having read the Highway Code - my New Zealand license was authorization enough for me to do this. Yet New Zealand and the UK have very different rules so why does knowing the rules in one country permit you to drive in the other?

I do not understand why the police turn a blind eye to driving offences. Just yesterday I almost got hit by a car - I was on a crossing and the driver chose to ignore the fact that his light was on red and just drive through anyway. There was a cop car parked right next to the crossing with two officers in it, and at least one of them definitely saw what happened, but didn't do anything,
A main reason is that the cars of to-day are quiet, smooth and easy to drive, drivers feel insulated from the weather and feel "it cant happen to them"
