Will hot or warm water hurt your tires?

We have recently had a bad ice storm and my car has been stuck since last Friday. There is a layer of ice on my tires on my drivers side and on the brake pad. If I use hot or warm water to melt that ice will it break my roders and brake pads? I am tired of being without a car!

Don't douse it with water to thaw it. It will re-freeze so quickly that it will only worsen the problem. Use a hair dryer to thaw and melt the ice.

The hot water won't hurt, but can freeze as he says. Better to be dry and have no problems.
