hi my husband had a car accident yesterday and the children weren't in the car, they have standard booster seats and a friend has ow told me that i will have to replace them? is this right? would understand if a baby seat but not and not a high speed accident just drove into someoneso front damage only? thanks

what is the curfew for driving for someone under 18 years of age?
Unlike baby car seats, booster seats are only to raise the child so that the car seat belt is in the correct position to fit around them properly. If your booster seats have a removable cover so that you can see that the cushion is obviously not damaged, then you do not need to replace them. If you cannot see whether the cushion is damaged or not, it would be wise to replace them.Should the speed limit be raised in California?
All the best.
Do you think we should take regular driving tests?
I would check with a local traffic authority. I thought you would only replace it, if it was damaged.what happens to my driving licence after its been revoked?
If the kids weren't in the car seats, then no. If the kids were in the seats, then yes. Any weight against the seat belts and restraints is multiplied in an accident which could stretch them out, making them unsafe to use again. The same holds true for the seat belts that come equipped with the car -- they need to be replaced, too.i would have them inspected by chp if u dont wanna do that i would replace them think about it, better safe than sorry
What is the point of speed camera detectors?
hi yeah you do need to replace them as they may have been damaged and you cannot see it. when this happened to us our insurance paid to have new car seats.is uk a left hand or a right hand driving?
For the price of a few quid or my childs safety I would just change them..........Why Do schools not teach driver's education anymore?
just make sure the only booster seats are still sturdy and usefulWhat does It's a long road that has no turning mean?
My hubby done same thing and we didnt replace them. The kids were'nt in there at time that was good. Its just baby seats they tell you it safer. Hope hubby okIt's extremely unlikely, especially as the children weren't in the car at the time. From what you've said, it was only a minor accident so it's highly unlikely that they would need replacing. However, it is essential that you mention this to your insurance company if it is necessary to contact them as a result of the accident.
yes yuo should replace them because thay could be dammanged
I am not sure about a booster since there are no internal harnesses. A harnessed seat would definately have to be replaced. There is a message board full of very nice people who could probably answer your question:
car-seat.org.
You do not have to register to ask a question. If they do need to replaced, there is a good chance your insurance will reimburse you or cover it.
How old/tall/heavy is a child supposed to be before he/she can sit in the front seat?
The only state I'm aware of that MANDATES car seat replacement is California...if the car seat was IN USE, i.e. a child was sitting in it, when an accident happened. You are required to to cut the strap on the car seat & turn it into the CHP.If you're in a bordering state of CA...it is NOT mandatory.
When you park in a parking lot?
Have them inspected just to be safe,i would not run out and buy new ones right away.More Questions & Answers ...
