Question:
I was stopped today at night by a cop for failing to stop at a stop sign (It was a trap). I did stop to prevent a rolling stop when i saw the police car, but with half my car over the stop line. Should I contest?
Answers:
How can we reduce the dangers of driving on the congested roads of the united states?
You can always contest it and hope the cop doesn't show up at court. As far as beating it thats up to what kind of mood the judge is in that day. If they follow the letter of the law you're gonna get a ticket since you are supposed to STOP before the stop lineWhat does AAA offer that is not offered through my insurer's emergency road service?
I actually wrote a book on this and other things related to traffic violations here is the linkWhat is more dangerous for kids 4-wheelers or dirt bikes?
just go to the court date and talk to the mediator. all you have to do there is plea not guilty(come for trial) or guilty (accept punishment), so you should at least go to that to weigh your options..What age group/nationality causes the most auto accidents?
it all depends on where the stop sign is and where the stop bar is in relation to traffic. there are some signs that are back to far off the intersection and i stop about a car length in front of the stop bar so i can see the traffic (and i'm still safely on my street). but i'd just talk about it nicely with whoever comes to mediate, it reaks of trying to find a loophole since you obviously weren't coming to a full stop, but maybe they can give you a warning or something.
No, you should not. Go to court and plead guilty but try to get them to not give you a dot on your record. If you cross the line anywhere, it is illegal. Same with crosswalks at intersections.
