Warning triangle, first aid kit, spare bulbs & spare spectacles if the driver wears them, also altho` supposedly a green card isn`t required I have always found having one is worth it. You will also need to carry your documentation - driving licence, car reg document, insurance details & mot. Warning triangle or hazard warning lights compulsory - we recommend that a warning triangle always be carried along with a set of replacement bulbs. Snow chains must be fitted to vehicles using snow-covered roads in compliance with the relevant road sign.Don't you hate motorist that...?
It is absolutely prohibited to carry, transport or use radar detectors. The detector will be confiscated, a heavy deposit toward fine imposed, followed by a court summons, with the possible risk of the confiscation of the vehicle.

n addition to AA and MPPRH above, as at 2006 it is now law in Germany, France, Italy, Hungary and Spain that you *must* wear the supplied "high-visibility safety vest" at all breakdowns and crash scenes. Particularly when the hazard warning triangle is used, and it too *must* be placed under the above circumstances, if it is safe to do so.I'd expect this vest requirement to become an EU 'directive' in the next year for each of its member states to adopt.
