We recently got over 2 feet of snow here in Colorado. You should have seen the idiots! Lexuses in the freeway median, high-centered Civics, etc. Man, if you can't drive in it, stay home already. Leave the weather to the locals.

You got it wrong. They never knew how to drive in the first place. The only thing that changes, is the grip of the tires to the road. So when it snows, the people that don't know how to drive loose control.

Here in Tennessee, everyone goes into a full blown panic if a snow flake falls. Schools close, and traffic comes to a grinding halt. I get a chuckle out of it, because I lived up north for several years and up there no one pays any attention to 2 feet of snow, it's business as usual. Can you drive in Oklahoma City without chains on your tires right now?

I agree, but keep in mind that some people are more cautious than others. I know that when I have my two children in the car with me, I am just more careful. And I always remind myself that there are elderly drivers who just don't have the fast reflexes they used to, and they know it so they may drive a little more slowly.what is it called when you are driving on the highway and everything looks the same?
ALSO, some people have never learned to drive in the snow. My dad taught me what to do and what not to do, but not everyone has a parent that has done that.

Try to be patient with others, even when they seem like idiots to you at the time. :) Just drive defensively -- that's the advice my driving instructor gave me twenty years ago and I still follow it.

In Utah they talk on the cell in the blinding snow listing to the radio . The one that hit me two years ago was on the cell drinking coffee and smoking all at the same time when visibility was 5 ft in front of the car then she tries to say it was my fault when she spilled her coffee dropped the cell and the cigarette and burned her skirt.what is the correct position for a rearview mirror?
Half the people do not have real skill or experience in driving in snowy conditions. They either panic and drive way too slow on roads that are in good condition, or they drive too fast on roads that are not in that good shape.Part of the problem is that driving instruction does not deal with actual skids and such, only telling people to "steer in the direction of the skid". This does not really register with people, and they panic in a skid. Once they lose control once, they become over cautious and drive extremely slowly!
It is not that they forget how to drive, it is that they really do not know how to drive in wintry conditions.
I'm glad you asked this one instead of me,,but i have to agree with you ,people go,, in the i don't care mode,, when it snows, for some reason snow affects their judgment and knocks out some of their common sense also ,i almost get hit when i get out in it ,because of people out driving in it ,who shouldn't be out at all,i only go if i have to,,,but i have seen 2 wheel drive cars try to go where 4 wheel drive trucks wont go,,i don't know what it is,i guess its their time to act up,,who knows ,its dangerous though,,it sounds like you have snow,,we want some, and cant get any here in Tennessee so send us some please we need it badly,,good luck, hope you had a real good x-mas,and be safe,
