There is a 50% increase of survival in a car accident. although only 5 children die a year in school bus accidents over 2,500 are checked into the hospital with Critical Injuries to the head, arms, legs and chest. There is already studies showing that seatbelts in school buses save lives. some school districts already use seatbelts.
Why do drivers insist on driving superfast, when they are about to meet a red light?
Last year a school bus outfitted with Seatbelts crashed into two cars. 7 childern went to the hospital with minor bumps and bruises. A month later another school bus in another district collided with a car then flipped onto its side. 24 children went to the hospital with Critical injuries to there arms,legs and chest.

If you really do your research instead of just using car statistics, you will find that there have been studies done, and if you just add seat belts to buses without making modifications of the seats also, the injury rate goes UP not down. That is the only reason seat belts are NOT recommended on buses.----------

It really depends on the driver and of the area which you may want the seatbelts or not because in my area I really do not think so because all the drivers are fully certified and extremely safe/trustworthy drivers. However, the area which you talk of, the children should be wearing seatbelts and it should a law.Yes. They should be mandated by law to install seat belts on
every school bus in use today. And do it soon.
