What is the proper way to pull over on a highway?

Question:
I am taking my "G" road test and want to know the proper procedure for pulling over on the highway and merging back into the traffic after pulling over.

Nervous Driver...?

Hit the turn signal, get in the right lane, look ahead a few hundred feet and pick a safe spot with plenty of shoulder room (usually it's beneath a bridge). Then pull over as far to the right as possible, turn on your emergency flashers.

Merging back, analyze the traffic, pick a spot where you are fairly certain you'll be able to get in. REMEMBER, people are traveling at very high speeds and 3 out of 4 of them could care less about you. Turn off the emergency flashers, hit the left turn signal and proceed down the shoulder, steadily increasing to near highway speed. When it's possible and you're comfortable with the amount of spacing available, merge into the traffic.

Why is there a law requiring seat belts but none in most states requiring motorcycle helmets?

(If it's me, I floor it, pick my spot and bolt in at well above highway speed... but this IS Florida and NO ONE "let's" you merge into traffic. Plus average highway speed is 80-90mph)

I just FAILED my drivng test.?

Turn signal before you are turning off the road, then, as soon as you stop, turn on your emergency flashers... When ready to go, turn on signal, then turn off your flashers... wait for an opening in traffic and merge quickly. Then cancel the turn signal...

Use directionals and make sure you do not roll off the side and look for a safe place. Directionals, scan and pull onto the road when traffic is cleared. Speed up to match the flow of the oncoming traffic but do not spin your wheels.
